Here’s a list of the top series so far.
2 Broke Girls (CBS): 15.5 million viewers
Unforgettable (CBS): 13.3 million viewers
Person of Interest (CBS): 12.9 million viewers
The X Factor (Fox): 12.3 million viewers
New Girl (Fox): 9.8 million viewers
Suburgatory (ABC): 9.8 million viewers
Already one show, The Playboy Club starring Eddie Cibriani has gotten the axe. Several shows riding a tidal wave of hype in the new season including Simon Cowell’s The X Factor and Charlie’s Angels have proven disappointing. While X Factor managed to pull in about 12.5 million viewers in its debut, that’s still about half the audience of American Idol and far below expectations for the most anticipated series of the fall.
Two and Half Men with the season addition of Ashton Kutcher continued to pull in impressive ratings in it’s second week with about 20.5 million viewers. While it dropped off from it’s whopping 28.7 million viewer debut, ratings were still strong enough to make it the most watched show of the week.
Potential good news for fans of the cancelled sitcom Arrested Development. Word is that the series will be returning to prime time for one more season that will lead up to the release of an ‘Arrested’ feature film. Showtime, Netflix and Hulu are rumored to be in talks about acquiring the new ‘Arrested’ episodes.
